Terms and limitations
What a result from EsoKlimat is, what it is not, and what you may say about it. EsoKlimat is a product of NexFood Sweden AB.
What a result is
A self-declared, screening-level estimate, prepared by you from data you entered, using published emission factors from open datasets. It is built for communication and internal screening: a claim on a deck, a starting point with a buyer, a way to find the hotspots worth measuring properly.
What it is not
Not a verified or certified footprint. Not a life-cycle assessment under ISO 14040, 14044 or 14067, and not a substitute for one. Not an audited inventory. Not compliance reporting for CSRD, SECR or SFDR. Not assurance, audit, financial, investment or legal advice. The method is informed by the GHG Protocol Product Standard, ISO 14067 concepts and Project Frame — being informed by a standard is not conformance with it.
What you may say
You may say a result was prepared with EsoKlimat and link to its public page. You may not say it is verified, validated, certified or approved by NexFood Sweden AB, nor endorsed by any data publisher whose factors it uses, nor compliant with any reporting standard. How a result is used is your responsibility.
Uncertainty is part of the result
Every published claim is the 20th percentile of a Monte Carlo distribution, floored to the nearest 5 points — the strongest statement true in at least 80% of simulated draws. The central estimate is always shown beside it and can never be published as the claim. Most factors publish no measured range, so their spread comes from a data-quality matrix; the claim says so itself when that applies.
Where the data comes from
Only open or openly-licensed public datasets. Nothing is taken from any proprietary calculator or paid database. Agri-food factors include land-use change, and biogenic carbon follows each source’s own convention — both disclosed rather than silently normalised.
Public claim pages
Publishing creates a page at a stable URL that needs no login: that is the point of it. It shows the claim, its range, the method, every factor with its source, your assumptions and the challenges against it. It does not show your workspace, your draft, or your recipe. You can revoke a page at any time and it stops resolving immediately, but revocation cannot retract copies a reader already took.
Your data
Held in the EU. No third-party analytics carrying personal data. Full account and data deletion on request, which removes the workspace, its claims, its line items, its audit log and its published pages.
